Jason Plato took victory in the third Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship race of the weekend at Croft to head into the summer break on a high

Nick Foster initially led having started from pole in his eBay Motors BMW but, after an early safety car period, lost the lead to Andy Neate at Tower. Foster dropped down the order as a result while Neate held top spot through a Safety Car period after a shunt involving Liam Griffin and Lea Wood at Tower.

Plato held fourth on the restart but soon worked his way up to second behind his team-mate and moved ahead into the lead and then pulled away to secure his 70th BTCC victory. Behind him, Tom Onslow-Cole and Andrew Jordan completed the podium, with Neate dropping down the order when others battled through.

Matt Neal was fourth and holds a one point lead in the standings, with Rob Collard and Gordon Shedden rounding out the top ten.

Plato's win mean he sits third in the standings going into the summer break, 29 points off top spot.
