"Over the past years, the DTM has developed itself in a great way and has established itself strongly, both among the teams and in the media," Opel motorsport director Volker Strycek said. "We are putting all our effort into the preparation for the 2005 season. The team at the OPC DTM-Centre in Bobingen has already been working on the development of the new car for months. The involvement of our team at OPC will be even more significant than in the past. This allows us to use our resources and possibilities even more effectively and efficiently.

"At the moment, we are still in the process of completing our line-up. In any case, we intend to be more successful than in the past season. Moreover, together with our partners in the DTM, we will continue to work on the future of the series. The Opel brand will remain present in motorsport after the 2005 season as well."
