Following Valtteri Bottas' redemptive victory last time out in Baku, the Finn has moved back into the lead of the drivers' world championship by a single point over Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton, who had to settle for second place in Azerbaijan.

Ferrari once again was left stratching its head after being unable to challenge Mercedes in qualifying or the race as it fell further adrift of its chief rival in the constructors' standings. Quick progress is needed for the Scuderia, as it returns to the venue it looked absolutely dominant at during pre-season testing. Can it recapture some of that eye-catching form in Spain?

When is the Spanish Grand Prix?

The 2019 Spanish Grand Prix takes place on Sunday May 12. Cars will hit the track for the first time during FP1 and FP2 on Friday, before final practice and qualifying takes place on Saturday.

The Spanish Grand Prix is held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Montmelo, Catalonia, in Spain. The track is 4.655km long and has 16 turns, with the race set to last 66 laps.
