This is how to watch the Formula 1 2026 Miami Grand Prix, which takes place from 1-3 May.

We’ve also listed the start times for all of this weekend’s F1 sessions below, in both Miami time and UK time.

Following a five-week enforced break after the cancellation of races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia due to the Iran War, the 2026 F1 season finally resumes this weekend in Miami.

Miami will be the fourth race of the season and comes after teams have had a month to work on their new cars and gain further understanding of the new-for-2026 regulations following the opening three rounds.

F1 has also introduced a raft of power unit rule tweaks aimed at helping drivers push more flat-out in qualifying and in the race, reducing the need for extreme energy management requirements that have been heavily criticised.

Mercedes will be looking to maintain its near-perfect start to the season, but will be wary of its rivals, with the likes of Ferrari and McLaren chasing to close the gap to F1’s current benchmark team.

When is the 2026 F1 Miami Grand Prix?

The Miami Grand Prix runs from 1-3 May.

Miami sees the return of the sprint format. This means there will be a single practice session on Friday 1 May, before sprint qualifying takes place.

The only practice session of the weekend has been extended from 60 to 90 minutes to allow drivers and teams the opportunity to get fully up to speed with the revised rules.

The sprint race is held on Saturday 2 May ahead of regular qualifying, which will set the grid for the Miami Grand Prix on Sunday 3 May.

The grand prix has been brought forward due to thunderstorm threats on Sunday.
