Scuderia Toro Rosso will field a total of five drivers at this week's young talent test at Silverstone circuit, having confirmed GP2's Johnny Cecotto alongside Red Bull prot?g?s Carlos Sainz Jr and Daniil Kvyat and regular pilots Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne for the three-day session.

Cecotto will spend the whole of the opening day (17 July) at the wheel of the STR8, having already driven for Toro Rosso at last year's Abu Dhabi Young Driver Test. Currently racing for Arden in GP2, the Venezuelan is enduring a mixed campaign and does not feature inside the top ten scorers after six of the year's eleven rounds.

Cecotto will hand over to Sainz Jr ahead of the Spaniard's Thursday morning run, as the 19-year old enjoys time with both Toro Rosso and Red Bull Racing during the test. The son of multiple World Rally champion Carlos Sainz is an obvious choice for the Toro Rosso team as, not only is he part of the Red Bull Young Driver Programme, but is also backed by CEPSA, the Spanish fuel and lubricants company that currently sponsors the Italian squad.

Ricciardo will be in the cockpit on Thursday afternoon, having already had a run - and possible audition - with RBR on Wednesday, while the final morning sees Vergne get his turn before handing over to Kvyat for the afternoon. The 19-year old Russian is another member of the Red Bull Young Driver Programme, and currently competes alongside Sainz Jr in GP3.

Should Ricciardo's run with RBR indeed prove the key to his replacing Mark Webber next season, it could provide an opening for one of the youngsters running with STR this week, although Antonio Felix da Costa - who gets two half-day outings with the senior team - would probably be ahead of them in the race to secure an F1 seat next season.
