Jarno Trulli has eventually signed for Prost Grand Prix to drive for the team for the next two years, the Italian will join Olivier Panis at the French for whom he deputised following Panis1 accident in Canada this year. There had been rumours that Trulli had already signed a deal with Williams Grand Prix to join the Oxfordshire team for 1999 but these stories have now been scotched following his signing.

Trulli will join Panis in testing a narrow-track Prost at Barcelona in December. The hybrid car will retain the Mugen-Honda engine until the Peugeot power unit is ready for it1s debut in the 1998 car in early January.
