McLaren boss Ron Dennis has said that his team will not rest on their laurels following the one-two result in Austria, because Ferrari is unlikely to cease development until the championship is over. Michael Schumacher, who lost ground to title rival Mika Hakkinen on the weekend, has also said that he believes the battle is far from over.

(I think that there is a feeling of euphoria at the moment,) Dennis said after the Austrian race, (but we will only enjoy that until tomorrow. We will be resilient because the worst thing is to be optimistic. In F1 that is a weakness.)

Schumacher continued to look on the bright side, despite only taking third in Austria when team-mate Eddie Irvine suffered brake problems in the closing stages. The German also survived a rodeo ride across the gravel trap in the opening laps. (I am sure there will be more competitive races to come from us,) said Schumacher, (and I am extremely positive.
