Rosset Misses Out.<br>

Ricardo Rosset's miserable season continued when he was forced out of the German Grand Prix by a practice crash.

The Brazilian - who has failed to qualify twice already this year - went off at the NordKurve, destroying his Tyrrell against the tyre barrier. Although he emerged from the car apparently unscathed, Rosset was advised to rest following a visit to the medical centre. It is alleged that he took a blow to the head.

Although there remained a possibility that he may have been allowed to start the race despite not having qualified, Rosset did not appear on Sunday afternoon after the FIA confirmed that participation would not be possible without a qualifying time. He is expected to appear at the next race in Hungary, however.

Tyrrell were almost left without a car for the German race, as Rosset's team-mate Tora Takagi went off twice in qualifying - at the same place. The Japanese driver suffered a heavy impact with the NordKurve tyre wall, ripping the left hand side off his car, but re-emerged in the spare after a short delay. Only good fortune prevented him from parking two Tyrrells in the corner's marshal area, but Takagi went on to qualify 15th before going on to take an uneventful 13th in the race.
