Salo Confirms Honda Deal.
Mika Salo, already in the news following his appointment as replacement driver for British American Racing, has confirmed that he will shortly begin work as Honda's second test driver.
The Finn, who had been linked with the Japanese giant over the winter, will commence his testing duties alongside Honda regular Jos Verstappen sometime in June, following his stand-in role for Ricardo Zonta at BAR. Salo is thought likely to race for BAR in the San Marino Grand Prix next weekend, and possibly the Monaco and Spanish races after that.

The former Arrows and Tyrrell pilot confirmed his Honda deal by telephone, during an interview with Finnish magazine Italehti, pointing out that he would miss the next Honda test - at Lurcy-Levis in France - in two weeks. The team was scheduled to attend the recently completed Jerez test, but withdrew as a mark of respect to technical director Harvey Postlethwaite, who died ten days ago.
