* Tony Jardine welcomed the audience to the "Rock meets F1 show" and said: "Bernie is to F1 what Elvis was to rock and roll".

* Carol Vorderman got one over on the audience when she said: "Turn around and shake the hand of the person behind you" (think about it!).

* Damon Hill was asked if he would race again - the 1996 F1 World Champion replied: "I will have a go at something. You can't get it (racing) out of your system."

* Eddie Irvine took a pop at his team Jaguar. Asked about the arrival of Niki Lauda he said: "He likes a challenge." Irvine also said of his move from Ferrari to Jaguar in 2000: "you have to try different things in life. I've tried success and now I am trying the other side."

* Ron Dennis was asked if McLaren are out for revenge in 2001 - the Woking team boss answered: "Not revenge. Just getting even. Ferrari winning it once every 21 years is ok but not two in a row."

* New Minardi boss Paul Stoddart said his target for the year when he said: "If we can lift ourselves up to midfield we will have done what we set out to achieve."

* Eddie Jordan said: "To be at the front up with Ferrari and McLaren will require something special. But with Honda we have that. Jordan GP is back".

*Five cars were present in the main hall with Jaguar taking centre stage. To the left was the Ferrari and Williams and to the right were the McLaren and the Jordan all suspended from the roof.

*The audience witnessed an array of songs from "We will rock you" to classics such as the Beatles song "Baby you can drive my car."
