Minardi test driver Matteo Bobbi will join race drivers, Jos Verstappen and Justin Wilson at the San Marino Grand Prix this weekend, and the Italian will be 'doing a McNish'.

Like Renault third driver, Allan McNish, Bobbi will run during the Friday morning private test session, helping the team to prepare for qualifying and then Sunday's race.

"I'm happy that I can get behind the wheel of a Formula One car again after last year's positive experience," said Bobbi, "I will be busy testing some tyres and brakes and I'm counting on giving useful information to the team's engineers to develop the car.

"Moreover, I'm without a doubt looking forward to testing on the Imola race track, which I consider along with Monza as a home track."

Bobbi currently competes in the FIA GT series with BMS Scuderia Italia, and along with team-mate, Thomas Biagi, won the opening round in Barcelona two weeks ago.
