Carlos Reutemann was back at Maranello this week for a surprise test at Fiorano and the former Ferrari ace was quick to praise the F2004 which he reckoned was 'impressive'.

Reutemann, who won 12 grand's prix in 146 starts during his F1 career, competed for the Scuderia from the end of 1976 to 1978.

He completed 17 laps in the F2004 and reckoned that although F1 looks 'easy today' that is definitely not the case.

"It was an unforgettable experience," said Reutemann after the drive.

"I would like to thank Ferrari for having organised this test even though it was a holiday. It was really exciting and I enjoyed myself very much!

"The car is impressive, especially in terms of the power from the engine.

"It is completely different to the car that I drove back in my day. Watching on television, Formula 1 today can look easy, but having tried it myself I can guarantee you that is not the case!"

Reutemann was met by team boss Jean Todt and visited the Gestione Sportiva and the Gestione Industriale, as well as having a telephone conversation with president Luca di Montezemolo, who is currently on business in China.

His last F1 outing came in 1982, when he took part in the Brazilian GP with Williams.

In total he scored 310 points, during his ten-year period in F1.
