FIRST PICS: Super Aguri join the fray.

After a brief shakedown session last week at Kemble Airfield, the Super Aguri Formula One team has joined up with its rivals for the first time as the latest F1 group test kicked off in Barcelona.

The team, led by former F1 driver Aguri Suzuki, will kick off the season with the SA05 present at Catalunya - the car based on the A23 used by the Arrows team during its final season of competition back in 2002.

Modified to fit the current F1 regulations, the SA05 will run with a Honda V8 engine and will be used for the opening races of the season before the team introduces its own car for Takuma Sato and Yuji Ide later in the year - hopefully in time for the first European race of the season at Imola at the end of April.

Although BMW, Red Bull Racing, MF1 Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso have all taken the place of existing teams on the grid in the past two years, Super Aguri will become the first all new F1 team to compete since Toyota made its debut at the start of 2002 - ironically in the last season when F1 had eleven teams on the grid.

A full testing report on the first day of running in Barcelona will follow at the end of the day while more pictures of the SA05, and the weeks testing action in Barcelona, can be found if you CLICK HERE.
