Ralf: Toyota and I will win the title...

Ralf Schumacher has said that he believes he can still win the drivers' championship one day - and that he will do it with Toyota.

Although Ralf managed to finish on the podium in Australia two weeks ago, Toyota have had a difficult start to the new season and it looks like it will be tough for the Cologne based squad to win their maiden grand prix this year, let alone allow the German to challenge for his first title.

Speaking to British newspaper The Sunday Times, the six time grand prix winner admitted that while he would like to have achieved more from his time in the sport, suggestions that he doesn't even like F1 are far of the mark.

"What's funny is that a lot of people think Michael [Schumacher - my brother] has achieved so much success compared to me because he loves motor racing and I don't, which is crazy," he told the broadsheet 'paper.

"I'd be very frustrated if I tried to beat my brother [and the records he has set]. It will be a long time before we see another seven-time world champion. I'm still here after 10 years because of my love of the sport. I love what I do.

"When I first came into Formula One in 1997, I thought, 'Okay, give it three years and I'll be fed up with the constant travelling and the hard work'. But I've found that I'm still in love with it. Yes, I expected more; there have been too many lows and not enough highs. I did my best [though], sometimes I made mistakes, but 90 per cent of the time I was right on it and it just didn't produce results. Like other drivers, I still dream of winning a world championship, and I think I can do it with Toyota."

As for the famous Schumacher name, Ralf added that like most things it had its advantages when he was trying to break into F1 - and its disadvantages.

"It opened doors, but then I had to prove myself," he explained. "Damon [Hill] was the most difficult team-mates I've ever had [when I partnered him in 1998 at Jordan - my second year in F1]. He was always playing politics. I suppose one has to understand he probably didn't like the name Schumacher very much. Being beaten by one of us was bad enough; the thought of two of us coming along to beat him was too much for him to bear!"
