The Super Aguri F1 team has attracted sponsorship from Virgin Atlantic (Japan) for this weekend's Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka.

The one-race agreement, which comes about after the British-based airline teamed up with existing SAF1 sponsor All Nippon Airways, will see Virgin Atlantic branding appear on the two SA06s of Takuma Sato and Sakon Yamamoto, as well as on Sato's helmet this weekend. Sato has enjoyed personal backing from Virgin Atlantic over a three-year period, so merely extends the relationship to the team at Suzuka.

"Following the collaboration between Virgin Atlantic and our existing partner ANA, I am very happy that the team is able to receive support from Virgin Atlantic," team boss Aguri Suzuki commented, "Having two world renowned airline companies as SAF1 team partners gives us great confidence. We now have only two races left in this season, but we hope that will able to show our partners performances that are worthy of their support."
