Williams the final F1 team to reveal launch date of 2022 car

The Williams Formula 1 team will unveil its 2022 challenger on February 15 meaning all 10 teams have now confirmed their launch plans for the new season.

The Grove outfit will be revealing its new car exclusively online next Tuesday at 1300 GMT with drivers Nicholas Latifi, Alexander Albon and team boss Jost Capito all present.

Williams enjoyed a strong 2021 campaign as it beat both Alfa Romeo and Haas to eighth in the constructors’ championship.

Aided by the form of George Russell - who will now drive for Mercedes - Williams scored its first podium since 2017 at the shortened Belgian Grand Prix. 

Latifi will remain with the team for a third consecutive season, while Albon makes his return to F1 after a year out.

The Thai driver spent 2021 as Red Bull’s official test and reserve driver after being dropped by the team in favour of Sergio Perez. 

The drivers will get their first true taste of the new car when pre-season testing kicks off in Barcelona later this month, before another test in Bahrain before the start of the season.

Red Bull is the first team to be launching its 2022 car ahead of the season, with the unveiling of the RB18 taking place on February 9.

McLaren will launch its car two days later on February 11, while AlphaTauri is showcasing its new challenger on February 14.

Ferrari and Mercedes will reveal their cars on February 17 and 18 respectively.

Alpine’s new machine will be seen for the first time two days before pre-season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Alfa Romeo is opting for an alternative approach as it will run a temporary livery during the Barcelona test before an official launch on February 27.

Finally, Haas revealed its 2022 livery on Friday with a series of rendered images.
