Camara snatches late maiden F2 pole in Hungary
Sergio Sette Camara left it late to claim his first-ever Formula 2 pole position, pipping Jack Aitken to the fastest time in the closing moments of qualifying at the Hungaroring.
The Carlin driver turned in a 1m27.400s with just two minutes left on the clock to seal pole by just 0.030s from Renault Formula 1 reserve driver Aitken, who looked set to top qualifying for the first time in the series having led much of the 30-minute session for ART Grand Prix.

Nyck de Vries briefly surged to the top of the timesheets for Prema, but ultimately had to settle for third place on the grid as he ended up over two tenths adrift. The Dutchman will share the second row of the grid alongside F2 points leader George Russell, who took fourth.
Campos Racing’s Luca Ghiotto set the fifth-quickest time, with McLaren F1 protege Lando Norris struggling to match his Carlin teammate on his way to setting a time good enough only for sixth.
Artem Markelov was seventh-fastest for Russian Time as he edged Trident’s Arjun Maini by just 0.001s, as the pair, along with Ralph Boschung and Louis Deletraz, all ended up within a tenth of a second of one another.
