Satisfied that the requirements it set to continue with its International F3000 Championship in 2004, the FIA has decided to issue a provisional entry list featuring the teams to have committed to the series.

The list is a mix of old and new, with series stalwarts Arden, Coloni, Durango, Super Nova and Astromega being joined by second year team BCN and newcomers Ma-Con, Spero, European Formula and EGM. Missing from the 2003 line-up are Brand and Den Bla Avis, which quit before the end of the year, ISR Charouz and the Red Bull Junior team, which will be replaced by a new outfit arising from Coloni partner European Formula.

At present, two entries have yet to be assigned team names, including that of Coloni, while no driver names have been confirmed, even though some teams - notably Arden, Astromega and Super Nova - have already announced all or part of their line-ups. In accordance with Article 33b of the sporting regulations, drivers may be nominated and/or changed up until 15 days prior to the start of the first event.

BCN's appearance on the list confirms its repeated denials of closure, while Astromega remains in the championship despite claims last year that costs were spiralling out of control.

The confirmed entry list is as follows:
