Marco Bezzecchi reveals weaknesses cost him sixth straight MotoGP win
Marco Bezzecchi picks out where Alex Marquez had the advantage in the Jerez MotoGP race.

Marco Bezzecchi has pointed out the areas he was losing out to Alex Marquez at the Jerez MotoGP.
Alex Marquez dominated the MotoGP race at Jerez, leading 24 of the 25 laps after passing Bezzecchi and Marc Marquez in the first two laps.
Marc Marquez crashed on lap two which promoted Bezzecchi to second, but the Italian could not match the pace of the Gresini Racing rider ahead of him and ended up trailing by over two seconds at the flag as he lost a grand prix for the first time since Malaysia last year.
Afterwards, Bezzecchi was complimentary of Marquez, who took his second Jerez race win in two years.
“He [Alex Marquez] was very quick especially in the fast and flowing parts – sector three, sector four,” Marco Bezzecchi told TNT Sports after the race in Spain.
“But, overall, he was on-point everywhere. But sector three especially he had very good lines, very good grip, [...] very good traction.
“I saw immediately, when he passed me in turn nine, I saw how he did turn 10 and I said ‘For sure he’s going to win’.
“In fact, he passed Marc [Marquez] pretty soon, and then Marc made the mistake and I was behind him, not super-close but I could see him, and I could see that he was riding in a perfect way.
“I tried to stay with him but it was not possible. Anyway, I’m okay.”
The Aprilia Racing rider added that second place was a result he could be satisfied with, given the strength of Marquez.
“Satisfied from the day because it wasn’t easy to make a good race, especially with Alex strong like this,” he said.
“In fact, immediately I saw that he was super-quick, as I expected, and this was the maximum that I could do.
“But very happy, my feelings were good but not the best, so happy to grab this second place and we have an important test tomorrow so everything is going, for the moment, alright.”
Expanding on his plans for the test, Bezzecchi added: “We have many items to try. The factory has been working super-tough. Noale, all the team, their effort is amazing so we have to work alone and I’m really looking forward to ride tomorrow.”
