This looks to be the moment that Dani Pedrosa and Honda lost the 2010 MotoGP World Championship.
Pedrosa, already 56 points behind Jorge Lorenzo heading into this weekend's Japanese Grand Prix, crashed on his third lap of Friday practice at Motegi, breaking his left collarbone in three places.
Circuit cameras only provided on-board footage of the incident, but this picture shows the full ferocity of the crash.
The Repsol Honda rider will now return to Spain for surgery and, with three races in three weeks and only five remaining before the end of the season, his slim title hopes have all but evaporated.
