West Honda Pons bring luck to McLaren at Monaco.

Last weekend Sito Pons and his wife Laura, Alex Barros and his wife Patricia and six-year-old son Lucas, and Loris Capirossi and girlfriend Ingrid met up in Monte Carlo. The West Honda Pons team members attended a dinner on Saturday night held on the West yacht. On Sunday, Sito, Loris and Alex were witness to the extraordinary victory by David Coulthard and the West McLaren Mercedes team in the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix. As special guests of the German tobacco company West, Sito and the riders were able to follow the race from the West yacht, which was moored in the harbour of the Principality, and which overlooked the Monaco circuit and the famous swimming pool. From there they followed closely the progress of David Coulthard who managed to fend off attacks from firstly Montoya and, later in the race, Michael Schumacher.

On Sunday morning they visited the hospitality centre and pitbox of the West McLaren Mercedes team and posed for photographs with David Coulthard and Kimi Raikkonen in front of the spectacular Communications Centre of the team. Also present for the photographers was Sven Hannawald, German ski-jump champion. Sito Pons and the West Honda Pons riders have already met David Coulthard previously since the Scotsman and his girlfriend were special guests of the team at last season's Czech Republic Motorcycling Grand Prix.
