"What a day. John did really well this morning in the warm-up session, he was second quickest right behind Nicky, so his confidence level was high despite the unlucky starting position of 21st. The weather was ok today, a bit chilly but no rain thankfully.

"The race started out good, John went from 21st to 11th in the first lap. He and Kenny were battling it out for the first part of the race, and gradually John started gaining positions in the field. He went from 11th to 7th position trading positions with Checa, Tamada, and I think Melandri. Colin was ahead of him by 3 seconds and so we were all keen to see him make ground on him which he was doing. However, John's luck, when he's doing really well, a "mechanical error" seems to happen.

"We noticed he started dropping back with about 11 laps to go, and eventually the cameras showed him walking towards the service road near the back part of the track. Obviously he looked little heated when the cameras switched to show what happened, a mechanical error. Smoke came out from the back of the bike, he slowed down and ran off the track. It's a shame, but what can he do?

"After that, a few other riders went off. I didn't actually see who crashed, but I know Nicky, Alex, and Troy went down. Rossi and Biaggi rode a good race although Sete won it. Looked like those three were fighting to the finish. So unfortunately, every round here at Czech, something seems to happen, not the best of luck.

"That's it for now, the team has to test tomorrow so they are already starting to prepare for it, I think a few other teams are testing as well, not sure who though. I shall send off reports from the next round. MotoGP is going to Laguna Seca next year so that's cool, definitely will be a mainstream California vibe there next year, home state for John. All family in England will have to leave paradise island now for a round. :)"
