Reigning MotoGP champion Marc Marquez suffered a partial shoulder dislocation on his way to sixth place on day one, when Suzuki team-mates Mir and Rins were the closest Yamaha challengers.

Marc's team-mate and younger brother Alex is based in the Repsol Honda pits for the first time and was top rookie on Monday, with Lecuona escaping injury in a fast accident.

Having split from Karel Abraham over the weekend, Avintia is yet to confirm the arrival of Johann Zarco and is instead giving MotoE rider Eric Granado his MotoGP debut on a GP18.

Miguel Oliveira and Takaaki Nakagami are absent, as they continue to recover from shoulder surgery, but Danilo Petrucci is back in action after shoulder tendonitis at Valencia.

Testing began at 10am - riders were again slow to head out, but Marc Marquez then beat his Monday time on his very first run...
