Marc Marquez celebrates his (25th) birthday today at the Thailand MotoGP test..

The Spanish superstar made his grand prix debut in the 125cc class in 2008, winning the title on a Derbi in 2010 - his all-action style being refined

Marquez then moved to Moto2 and took what continues to be Suter's only title in 2012, before filling the vacancy left by Casey Stoner at the Repsol Honda MotoGP team the following year.

A rookie hadn’t won the 500cc/MotoGP title since Kenny Roberts in 1978, but Marquez wrote his name into history as the youngest ever premier-class champion after a final round showdown with Jorge Lorenzo.

2014 saw a devastating title defence in the form of 13 victories, including the opening ten races in a row, but the rug was pulled from under him by an ill-handling Honda in 2015.

Marquez bounced back from that defeat to lift the title in both 2016 and 2017 - meaning a total of six world championships, four in the premier-class.
