Monger seals Cadet Honda title at Buckmore.

Billy Monger had already won the 2010 Super One Cadet Honda championship prior to the final round of the series at Buckmore Park but that didn't prevent the new champ from mixing it at the front on a wet weekend in Kent.

Bill Monger didn't need to race, and risk a costly disqualification, in the final round of the 2010 Super One Cadet Hondas Championship at Buckmore Park but rather than watch from the sidelines, as champions often do once they have secured their crowns, Monger raced on and scored another podium finish at the Kent venue.

Having secured the title at the previous round at Clay Pigeon Monger chose to enter the last round and, despite rain causing many problems around the undulating Buckmore venue, drove with the same gusto that helped bring him the 2011 title.

Monger, Dave Wooder and Luke Knott won the heat races with Monger actually crossing the line first in the opening final only to be deposed three places for a clash with Wooder, handing the win to Knott from Wooder and NKRA Champion Robbie Gallier.

Despite the weather Monger, Wooder and Knott rejoined their earlier battle in the second final with Wooder narrowly coming out on top on this occasion despite finishing with two wheels on the grass in a near photo finish. Knott took second with Monger third and Jack Evans and Gallier completing the top five.

In the final standings Monger finished 25 points ahead of Wooder with O Plate winner Knott nine points further back and Gallier just beating Evans for fourth overall and the honour of top series rookie.
