CW Racing attack Roads and Circuits in 2010

The newly formed CW Racing Team will consist of owner/racer Coyles Wright

The 2010 Motorcycle racing season will see a new Race Team on the grid at Irish Championship events. The newly formed CW Racing Team will consist of owner/racer Coyles Wright a 37 year old ADT Fire and Security, CCTV Engineer from Bushmills and 28 year old racer Michael McKinley from Ballynure.

Coyles Wright will concentrate his efforts between the hedges racing a Suzuki GSXR1000 and a 'Super Twin' at all Ulster Centre Road races, the NW200 and Ulster GP, Kells and Killalane, as well as taking in some ISB short circuit races. Coyles, whose best Road Race result to-date is a 2nd place finish at the 2008 Killalane Road races, has numerous top ten finishes on the roads and is usually around the top six in the Supertwins class when he takes in a short circuit race meeting.

Michael McKinley will compete on Coyles' Suzuki GSXR600 on the Irish short circuits riding in both the Bridgestone Tyres Irish Clubmans Championship and the Irish Supersport 600 championship. This will see a change of class for Michael who finished 2nd overall in the 2009 Supersport 400 Ulster Championship and 3rd overall in the 2009 Irish Supersport 400 championship, despite missing quite a few races.

Both Coyles and Michael have raced under the McKillop Motorcycles banner in previous seasons and struck up a good friendship during that time, however come the end of the 2009 season Michael had decided retirement from the sport was the only option left open to him due to a severe lack of funds.

Coyles, having been impressed by the strong performances by Michael, decided that he (Michael) was too good a racer to retire and made him the offer of riding Coyles spare 600 which would otherwise have gone unused in 2010 and so the CW Racing Team was formed.

A delighted Michael now entering his 7th year of racing said "Due to a lack of finances I had made the decision to retire from the sport and in fact I had gone as far as to announce it to my family and girlfriend. In stepped Coyles with a solution to my predicament and it has all grown momentum from there. Module Road and Race have done us a deal on new Leathers and we are actively seeking other support be it product or financial. When the season starts I will ride the bike in both the Clubmans and ISB championships to get much needed track time and then just take it from there to see how competitive we can be. Then when Coyles is racing the roads I will muck in and give him support, spannering etc. Its the least I can do to thank him for this opportunity."

Speaking of the Team formation owner Coyles Wright said "I always got along well with Michael and although his race appearances were always restricted due to financial constraints he always rode hard and got good results. I thoroughly enjoy my racing and the people that I meet within the sport and Michael is one of those nice guys who I decided was too good to retire early, so I made him the offer of supplying him with my spare bike and whatever financial support I can give to him whilst also racing myself. The Team will be mostly self funded however we do get some much appreciated support from Alan and Zoe Dunlop of the Bushmills Inn, David McAllister of Race 4 real (Indoor Karting) and Motoplus of Coleraine have supplied us with HJC Helmets. Zion Moto help us out with the suspension for the bikes and Nick Jackson of the Vinyl Touch in Coleraine does all the Graphics on the Bikes. We would like to hear from anyone who wishes to assist the team in anyway."
