British Superbike team Moto Rapido and international road racing team Millsport Racing have announced they will enter into collaboration for the 2013 season, with an eye on competing in both BSB and the Isle of Man TT.

As well established Ducati-affiliated teams, owners Steve Moore and James Murray have come to an agreement that will see the already-announced Matteo Baiocco tackle the British Superbike Championship on a Ducati 1199R, while Lee Johnston will ride the bike in the National Superstock 1000 Series.

Additionally, Johnston will take part in the international race races, the IOM TT, North West 200 and the Ulster Grand Prix. The team will be known as Rapido Sport Racing.

"I am very happy to join forces with Millsport to create team Rapido Sport Racing," said Moore. "Over several meetings it soon became clear that we could work well together and present a stronger and more efficient team in both the BSB paddock and the road racing internationals where the experience of the Millsport team will be invaluable. Together we can field a strong side for Ducati in the Superbike and Superstock classes.

"We're all pleased to have Lee in Superstock 1000 where he proved himself on last years bike so with the 1199R and some development and support from Bologna I am sure we can expect more great results from him."

"It is fantastic for Millsport Racing to join forces with Moto Rapido and create Rapido Sport Racing, it will strengthen the Ducati brand presence at BSB and the International road race events," added Murray.

"Over 2012 we got to know the Moto Rapido team and when the idea arose about us joining forces it was an easy decision. With Lee in Superstock and Matteo in Superbike on the Ducati 1199R we have a very strong team and can't wait to get started."
