Boocock joins Somerset promotion.

Eric Boocock has agreed to become co-promoter of Somerset alongside Andy Hewlett. Boocock will be handling much of the paperwork and track preparation and takes a much needed wealth of experience to the club.

Hewlett said: "This is great news but we can't tell his wife. Mrs Boocock thinks Eric should be slowing down, not taking more on. This is a major boost for the club."

Boocock is known as an extremely shrewed and tactically aware team manager and held the position most recently with Hull until the Vikings changed ownership over the winter.
