Fred Makowiecki is to leave Aston Martin to become of Porsche's factory GT drivers for the 2014 season and beyond.

Makowiecki, a former winner of the Porsche Carrera Cup France, will join Porsche having impressed with Aston Martin Racing in the World Endurance Championship this season.

The 33-year-old has also been a race winner with Honda in the Japanese Super GT series.

"Frederic Makowiecki is one of the fastest and most experienced GT pilots," Porsche Head of Motorsport Hartmut Kristen said. "He has a great deal of experience on virtually all international race tracks and he knows precisely how to drive a Porsche 911 fast.

"I'm very much looking forward to working with him."

Makowiecki joins Jorg Bergmeister, Patrick Long, Marco Holzer, Patrick Pilet, Richard Lietz and Nick Tandy as a factory GT driver, with Michael Christensen having also moved up into the role for 2014.
