WEC confirms 33 entries for 2019-2020 season
The World Endurance Championship will see 33 entries join the 2019-2020 season having released the provisional full season entry list at the ACO presentation ahead of the Le Mans 24 Hours.
With the 2018-2019 campaign concluding this weekend at Le Mans, the new WEC season gets underway at Silverstone next September and will welcome 33 entries in a near-capacity grid despite significant losses in the GTE-Pro class with both BMW and Ford withdrawing its factory efforts, while DragonSpeed is also exiting the LMP1 class.

With the 2018-2019 campaign concluding this weekend at Le Mans, the new WEC season gets underway at Silverstone next September and will welcome 33 entries in a near-capacity grid despite significant losses in the GTE-Pro class with both BMW and Ford withdrawing its factory efforts, while DragonSpeed is also exiting the LMP1 class.
LMP1 retains its eight full-season entries with two Toyota Gazoo Racing (hybrid), two Rebellion Racing, two SMP Racing and the return of two entries from Ginetta Team LNT (all non-hybrid).
In LMP2, eighth entries have been confirmed while the GTE-Pro category has slimmed to six entries covered by an even split of AF Corse Ferraris, Porsche GT Teams and Aston Martin Racing squads.
The GTE-Am class has duly been bolstered with 11 entries to make up the 33-strong grid for next season.
ByKolles has confirmed it will run a partial WEC season in 2019-2020, focusing on the European races, as it develops a new car for the projected Hypercar regulations set to be introduced for the 2020-2021 season.
