Colin McRae has retired from Rally Catalunya after his Ford engine refused to start at the beginning of SS6, Vallfogona.
The Scotsman, who if it wasn't for bad luck would have no luck at all, has now failed to score a drivers point in any of this years four events, leaving him with an uphill struggle if he is to stand a chance of challenging for a second drivers title this year.

Meanwhile, the Citroen Xsara T4's of Jesus Puras (first) and Phillip Bugalski (second + 8.7secs) continue to dominate the event with the Peugeot's of Didier Auriol and Gilles Panizzi third and fourth respectively.
