SS10 cancelled.

Organisers of the Acropolis Rally, Greece have been forced to cancel Special Stage 10 - Mendenitsa (17.34 kms) - due to safety concerns.

Reports suggest that badly parked spectator cars prevented the FIA safety vehicle from driving through and as such the rally cars drove the stage at road speed and then proceeded directly to service.

Reports suggest that badly parked spectator cars prevented the FIA safety vehicle from driving through and as such the rally cars drove the stage at road speed and then proceeded directly to service.

The rally will now resume with SS11 - Bauxites (23.45 kms) - at 15.34 local time (13.34 UK time).

Currently Colin McRae leads the rally for Ford, with fellow Brit Richard Burns second for Peugeot, 20.2 seconds behind. Marcus Gronholm is third.

Former rally leader Markko Martin meanwhile is now ninth, having had to stop to change a puncture on SS9, costing the Ford driver over 3 minutes.

Janne Tuohino leads the JWRC with fellow Citroen drivers, Jussi Valimaki and Andrea Dallavilla, second and third respectively. Yesterday's 'Junior' leader Francois Duval has retired.
