Britain's Matthew Wilson teamed up with Boyzone front-man Ronan Keating this week as he and the rest of the band took time out of their hectic UK tour to attend a drive day as guests of Stobart Motorsport.

The day was held to help promote the up-coming Carlisle Live pop festival which is being organised by Stobart Group CEO Andrew Tinkler and headlined by the Irish group.

Keating, along with fellow band member and Motorsport enthusiast Shane Lynch, received a high speed dash in the Ford Focus WRC07 car driven by Wilson, who recently took his fourth points finish of the year on the Rally of Turkey.

Keating also met with Bradley North, a teenager helped by the charity 'When You Wish Upon A Star'. The charity is supported by Stobart Group and Bradley was also thrilled to receive a few hot laps in the Stobart Ford Focus.

Despite the WRC taking a six week break for the summer it is still a busy time for the Stobart team with several events on the calendar. Wilson and his Carlisle-based co-driver Scott Martin are set to embark on a nine-day cycle covering the full length of Britain kicking off this weekend.

The pair will cover a route from Land's End to John O'Groats in aid of The Richard Burns Foundation, Cumbria Community Foundation and the Great North Air Ambulance service.

It doesn't stop there though as the team will be in action in July when they attend the Goodwood Festival of Speed - one of the greatest motorsport exhibitions in the world. The Stobart team will be on hand in full capacity to run the Ford Focus RS WRC07 in front of the hundreds of thousands of fans who attend the festival from July 10-13.
