Petter Solberg has received a welcome boost ahead of his second season as a privateer in the World Rally Championship, confirming the addition of energy-drink Mad-Croc to his list of backers for 2010.

The international brand, a rival to the likes of Red Bull and Monster which have recently established themselves in the WRC, is poised to introduce its products to the
Norwegian and Swedish markets, and see a link with former world champion Solberg as an ideal way to spread the message.

"We will use 2010 to establish Mad-Croc in Norway and Sweden, and are quite confident that Petter Solberg will be a good promoter for us," regional promoter B?rd Ove Grong commented.

Solberg admits that he is delighted to have found a partner of Mad-Croc's standing, but reveals that the company was not the first of its kind to approach him regarding sponsorship.

"I got offers from other energy drink companies, but chose to include Mad-Croc as my new sponsor," he confirmed, "We have the same passion and energy, and I'm confident that this partnership will be good for both parties."

Mad-Croc, which also markets an energy gum, has previously appeared in motorsport with the likes of new Lotus F1 driver Heikki Kovalainen and sometime GP2/F2 driver Henri Karjalainen.
