Rally Sweden Shakedown times

Thierry Neuville has started his Rally Sweden on the front foot by topping the shakedown times for Hyundai.

The Hyundai driver narrowly missed out on victory to title rival Sebastien Ogier at the World Rally Championship opener last month but looks in strong form again by leading the shakedown times by over two seconds from nearest challenger Ott Tanak for Toyota.

Defending champion and points leader Ogier slotted into third place for Citroen, one-tenth off Tanak, with Toyota’s Kris Meeke taking fourth place ahead of fellow countryman Elfyn Evans in the lead M-Sport Ford.

Evans’ M-Sport teammate Teemu Suninen has taken sixth spot on the shakedown times ahead of Esapekka Lappi who has claimed seventh for Toyota with nine-time WRC champion Sebastien Loeb in eighth after impressing on his Hyundai debut last time out with fourth place at Rallye Monte-Carlo.

Jari-Matti Latvala has grabbed ninth on the times ahead of 2018 rostrum-finisher Andreas Mikkelsen in the third Hyundai to complete the top ten. Local favourite Pontus Tidemand has taken 11th for M-Sport Ford ahead of fellow countryman and two-time World Rallycross champion Johan Kristoffersson who leads the WRC 2 times.
