Sunday at Misano looks to be another day of WorldSBK racing that will be dominated by Nicolo Bulega. The Italian enjoyed his most dominant victory, in a dry race, of the season in Race 1, and was victorious once again in the Superpole Race this morning.
Bulega's team-mate, Iker Lecuona, has been second in the last 17 races, and that streak looks set to continue this afternoon, after he was over five seconds clear of Yari Montella yesterday in Race 1. Lecuona was also more competitive relative to Bulega this morning, although the Italian was ultimately still comfortable out front.
Montella has been third in both races so far this weekend, but could have more competition for that final podium spot in Race 2, mostly from Lorenzo Baldassarri who seemed to have the pace to go with his compatriot yesterday before he crashed out. Sam Lowes has had good speed this weekend, too, but will start Race 2 from the fourth row after a crash in the Superpole Race.
Alex Lowes started from the back of the front row in third place this morning, but was unfortunate in the Supeprole Race to retire with a technical problem and will start 10th this afternoon as a result. Lowes' loss was Axel Basssani's gain and the Italian will start from the front of row two for Race 2 today.
Tarran Mackenzie had quit WorldSBK at Misano in 2025, but by 2026 he was scoring his best result there.
"It's funny", Mackenzie said of his 12-month turnaround after finishing fifth in Race 2 today.

The crash towards the end of Race 2 today 'hurt' Axel Bassani as he lost out on a home podium.
The Italian declared it a "positive" Sunday, regardless, preferring to focus on his obvious speed and potential rather than the end result.

It's victory for a 25th consecutive time for Bulega. He completes the home treble at Misano.
Lecuona completes another Aruba Ducati 1-2. Montella completes the podium.
Lowes and Mackenzie round out the top-five, ahead of Surra, Locatelli, Gardner, van der Mark, and Sam Lowes in the top-10.
Onto the final lap now and the podium positions are set: Bulega 5.6 clear of Lecuona, who has 8s on Montella, who is 2s clear of Lowes.
Lowes himself is 3s clear of Mackenzie, who is keeping that P5 ahead of Surra for now.
Bassani had broken Montella for the final podium spot and he's thrown it away at turn eight. He's okay, but that's a first podium since Phillip Island gone for the Bimota rider.
Montella promoted back to third now and 1.5s clear of Lowes.
Bulega almost 5s clear at the front and Bassani now pulling away slightly from Montella, over half-a-second between the two Italians now with six laps to go.
Bulega's lead nudging towards 4s now as Bassani continues to hold Montella off for that final podium position.
3.5s between the two leaders now. Montella still unable to find a way through on Bassani. They've dropped Lowes, who has 2s back to Mackenzie.

Lowes has 2s behind him to Mackenzie, who passed Surra for sixth on that lap nine.
Oliveira looks to be retiring. Not a crash, and presumably a technical problem although he does have the physical question marks this weekend after his Balaton crash.
Mistake on that lap from Lecuona as well, the same error as yesterday at turn 13.
Bulega pulling away now, his gap is up to 1s on lap five.
Behind, Lowes is holding onto Montella after losing that P5. He needs as much pace now as possible to keep him clear of Surra and Mackenzie on the Ducatis behind.
Baldassarri's weekend doesn't get better - technical issue it looks like for him.
Vickers has crashed out as well at turn 14.
Sofuoglu has gone off at turn 12 and hurtled through the gravel before crashing on the outside of turn 13.
Alex Lowes has lost ground on that lap and he's lost position to Montella who's up to fourth.
Front two separated by 0.5s, 2s back behind them to Bassani.
Bulega to the front by the end of lap one after Lecuona ran wide at turn 11.
Good first lap for Alex Lowes, he's already fourth from P10 on the grid.
Bassani currently third.
Bautista crashed with Manzi at turn eight. Looks like Bautista lost control in braking but he's walking away.
Lecuona aggressive at the start of Race 2 and he takes the lead ahead of Bulega. Bassani third, Locatelli takes fourth from Montella who is also collected by Lowes at turn five.
Riders are off on their warm-up lap ahead of the Superpole Race at Misano.
Everybody raced the SCQ tyre this morning. The high temperatures, high grip, and general lack of corners where you're accelerating with lean angle at Misano means that Pirelli's softest tyres are very capable here.
Expect everyone to be on the SCX rear tyre this afternoon.
