Aprilia has revealed a one-off livery design for its RSV4 Superbike ahead of its home round of the 2014 World Superbike Championship at Misano, Italy.

Twenty-seven years after Loris Reggiani scored Aprilia's very first world championship win around the Rimini circuit of Misano in the 1987 250GP class, the manufacturer has gone on to enjoy a wealth of success that has brought it dozens of titles.

The stats are certainly compelling: 38 championship titles in Motomondiale World Championship GP with 294 Grand Prix races won, 5 World Superbike titles with 42 race wins and another 9 world championship wreaths in off-road disciplines. The total number is 52 World Championships in the last 22 years.

To celebrate this, Aprilia's Marco Melandri and Sylvain Guintoli will run special replica liveries at Misano this weekend, reflecting a similar design to that of Reggiani's bike in 1987. Furthermore, the mechanics, the team and the umbrella girls will be wearing a special T-shirt which is a re-edition of the 1987 shirt.

Aprilia comes to Misano following a hugely successful weekend last time out at Sepang, which saw a double 1-2 for the manufacturer.
