Alex Lowes has topped the final free practice session at the Thailand World Superbike round narrowly ahead of Chaz Davies with less than half a second covering the top 10 ahead of qualifying.

The Pata Yamaha riders late flying lap secured him top spot with a 1m 33.440s less than one-tenth ahead of Davies on the Aruba.it Racing Ducati. Kawasaki pair Tom Sykes and Jonathan Rea both kept in close contention in third and fourth respectively in the short FP4 session ahead of qualifying with Lowes’ teammate Michael van der Mark rounding out the top five.

Leon Camier has continued to impress for Red Bull Honda with sixth place narrowly ahead of Barni Ducati’s Xavi Fores who bounced back from an awkward clash with Eugene Laverty midway through FP3 which saw the Spaniard require a trip to the medical centre.

World Superbike championship leader Marco Melandri also kept his name at the front in eight place as MV Agusta’s Jordi Torres and Puccetti Kawasaki’s Toprak Razgatlioglu completed a top 10 split between just 0.459s.
