Jonathan Rea closed out day-one of Official WorldSBK testing quickest ahead of Leon Haslam and Garrett Gerloff.

Sixth at the midday stage, Rea took over top spot from his main championship contender of last season Scott Redding who had previously led at the midday stage. Redding finished the day fourth for Aruba.it Ducati.

The opening four hours were a competitive one at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with Ducati and Yamaha exchanging fastest times.

And the afternoon running was just as intriguing, as five different manufacturers finished inside the top five.
