BSB star Jessopp gets WSS outing

Martin Jessopp is to make an unexpected appearance on the World Supersport Championship grid at Magny-Cours after taking up the vacant seat alongside Gino Rea at Step Racing Honda.

The 25-year-old has been a regular on the MCE British Superbike Championship grid for the past four seasons, most recently scoring a career-best result of fourth position at Donington Park.

However, for one weekend he will swap his twin-cylinder Rapid Bathams Ducati for a 600cc Honda with an outing in France alongside Brno race winner Rea at Step Racing in the absence of Vladimir Ivanov, who also didn't race at Imola.

Jessopp will join fellow BSB rider James Ellison on the Magny-Cours grid, while British Supersport regular Paul Pekkanen is also competing in France aboard his 777RR Triumph Daytona 675.
