Corentin Perolari has secured his maiden World Supersport pole position by sliding to top spot in tricky conditions at Circuito San Juan Villicum.

The GMT94 Yamaha rider is currently fighting for his World Supersport future and made the perfect start to his Argentina round with pole position thanks to a stunning 1m 45.993s.

The French rider, on his debut at the Argentinean circuit, made the most of the slippery conditions due to the dust and hotter temperatures to see off a late improvement by Ayrton Badovini on the Pedercini Racing Kawasaki to take pole by 0.067s.

Jules Cluzel completes the front row on the GMT94 Yamaha on his 31st birthday as he beat Pedercini Kawasaki’s Kyle Smith who claimed pole position last time out in Magny-Cours.

The British rider heads up row two in front of Puccetti Kawasaki’s Lucas Mahias with World Supersport championship leader Randy Krummenacher qualifying in sixth place.

The Bardahl Evan Bros Yamaha rider takes a 10-point advantage over team-mate Federico Caricasulo going into the penultimate round of the season, with Kallio Racing Yamaha’s Isaac Vinales splitting the title contenders in seventh place with the Italian rider qualifying down in eighth place.

Christian Stange made a late surge to ninth place for Gemar Honda as Peter Sebestyn rounded out the top 10 for the CIA Landlords Insurance Honda squad.

That left Hikari Okubo down in 11th place for Puccetti Kawasaki as Raffaele De Rosa completes row four on the MV Agusta Reparto Corse.
