Loris Baz's 2011 British Superbike Championship campaign could be about to hit a stumbling block after revealing he has lost a personal backer.

The Frenchman, a former European Superstock 600 champion, is embarking on his first full season of BSB racing with Motorpoint Yamaha after impressing in a guest outing aboard the R1 during the closing stages of 2010.

However, though Baz has shown impressive flashes of speed this season and remains in contention for a 'Title Showdown' spot, he requires an investor to allow him to continue racing.

"[sic] thks for the support everybody..its not a joke.. hopefully somebody who can help me will see that we will see i will do my best anyway tomo", he wrote on Twitter ahead of the Knockhill races.

Baz, who is backed by Yamaha France, is currently eleventh in the overall standings with a best finish of fourth at Croft.
