Paul Bird Motorsport has confirmed it will retain a presence in the MCE British Superbike Championship in 2014, ending speculation that it was set to focus entirely on its MotoGP effort.

Team manager Paul Bird, whose eponymous outfit races under the Rapid Solicitors' Kawasaki moniker in BSB, had previously alluded to plans to withdraw from BSB at the end of the year, but with just two rounds of the season remaining, he has revealed plans to remain in 2014.

Set to continue its partnership with Kawasaki, PBM's confirmation comes as Shane Byrne looks to defend his BSB crown to become the first rider in the series' history to win four titles.

Though no riders have been formally announced as yet, Byrne is tipped to stay with the team, while his main rival for the BSB title, Alex Lowes, has been linked to joining PBM's MotoGP team.
