Mark Richardson from Coventry and Penrith's Lindsey Birkett competed against 49,000 other runners in the annual Tyneside event over 13 miles in a bid to raise money for Leukaemia Research.

Mark, originally from Alston in Cumbria but now working in the Midlands is the team's telemetry and analytical engineer and completed the course in 1 hour and 55 minutes whilst Lindsey is team owner Paul Bird's fianc?e and managed to get round in under two and a half hours.

"I was a little sore for a couple of days afterwards, but I was really pleased with my time as it was under the two hour target I had set myself," he said. "I found the run very enjoyable but it is difficult to run at your own pace with 49,000 other people trying to get on the same piece of road as you. The training I undertook by running around the circuits each BSB round definitely paid off," concluded Richardson who is known around the paddock as "Mr Bean".

Lindsey commented afterwards: "I'm going to get Paul (Bird) to do this next year!"

Mark would like to send special thanks to Carol Williams for taking a spare form and collecting some additional money and Charlie & Julie Cash from Charlie's Injury Clinic for their hard work in helping him prepare.
