The Airwaves Ducati team put in a superb effort to finish first and second in race two of round six of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Mallory Park, with Ryuichi Kiyonari in third place.

Off the line it was Kiyonari who got the hole shot followed by the Airwaves pairing with Haslam hot on his heels followed by Lavilla who wasted no time at all in scything past his team-mate to take second place. By lap three the Spaniard was all over the back of the Japanese rider and proceeded to smash the newly set lap record and set his own with a lap time of 55.982secs. But it was lap five that saw all the action when both Airwaves machines got past Kiyo, Lavilla made the move at Charlies chicane and Haslam at Edwina's.

The front runners stayed the same until lap fourteen when Haslam ran wide at Charlies allowing Kiyo to slip up into second. There was no further changes with the top three until lap twenty four when the back markers started to get in the way. Kiyo ran wide at the hair pin allowing Haslam back past him, so it was Lavilla from Haslam from Kiyo.

On the cool down lap Lavilla stalled his Ducati and had to grab a lift back with Vivaldi Suzuki's Scott Smart!
