The first Bennetts British Superbike pole of 2021 went the way of Ducati’s Tommy Bridewell following the inaugural top ten Superpicks shootout.

O’Halloran finished this morning’s FP3 fastest for McAMS Yamaha heading into the first British Superbike qualifying session of 2021.

Bridewell was fastest on day-one of BSB action at Oulton Park, as the new Superpicks format delivered a thrilling battle.

Pre-season favorite O’Halloran was fastest in FP1, before taking second during the afternoon - +0.369s down on the impressive benchmark time set by Bridewell.

The top Ducati was Iddon as he claimed third place, while BMW riders Bradley Ray and Danny Buchan rounded out the top five. Defending series champion Josh Brookes sneaked into the all-important top 12 with tenth.

The BSB Superpicks format - new for 2021, means the top 12 riders from Friday on combined times are granted automatic progression to Q2.

Xavi Fores was unable to take part in both qualifying and the race after suffering a free practice injury.
