BTC Norlin Racing opts for Honda switch

Having enjoyed an impressive rookie campaign in the British Touring Car Championship last year, BTC Norlin Racing has switched from Chevrolet to Honda machines for 2018.

The British squad, who saw Dave Newsham finish 14th in the overall drivers’ championship with the highlight of a maiden podium for the squad in race three at Silverstone, are confident of emulating recent title triumphs and challenges from the Halfords Yuasa Racing Honda squad – namely Gorden Shedden’s three title successes over the past six seasons – as the team looks to climb the BTCC grid in 2018.

The team's aim is to build on its maiden year results and become a consistent podium challenger for the upcoming campaign.

“The move highlights the ambitions of the BTC Norlin Racing team to continue to invest in the BTCC and progress to become a regular fixture on the podium,” Bert Taylor, team director, said. “We wish to extend special thanks to Honda and Barry Plowman, Steve Neal and Matt Neal from Team Dynamics who gave us this unique opportunity to acquire world-class manufacturer machinery.”

The team is yet to formally confirm its 2018 BTCC driver line-up for its two Honda Civic Type R machines, while Norlin Hotels and Central Fusion will continue to sponsor the team along with a number of new sponsors that will be announced in the coming weeks.
