With Sebastian Vettel striking back after the summer break with victory at the Belgian Grand Prix, F1’s European season draws to a close at the Italian Grand Prix.

The Ferrari driver’s win at Spa-Francorchamps has moved him 17 behind chief title rival Lewis Hamilton, with the Mercedes driver having to settle for second place.

Vettel will be aiming to secure another famous victory at a circuit Ferrari has failed to win at in almost a decade with Fernando Alonso’s 2010 triumph the last time the Italian manufacturer achieved victory at Monza.

When is the Italian Grand Prix?

The 2018 Italian Grand Prix takes place on Sunday 2 September. Cars will hit the track for the first time during FP1 and FP2 on Friday, before final practice and qualifying continues on Saturday.

Where is the Italian Grand Prix taking place?

The Italian Grand Prix is held at Autodromo Nazionale Monza situated north of Milan. The track is 3.600 miles long and comprises of 53 laps.
