Carroll manager 'shocked and surprised' by Campos link

It's news to us, says Adam Carroll's manager after rumours link the 27-year-old Irishman to Campos Meta 1

2010 F1 newcomer Campos Meta 1 has had no contact with Adam Carroll about the coming season, according to his manager.

Carroll has been linked to the Spanish squad in recent weeks following reports that A1GP boss Tony Teixeira is in the frame to buy into the cash-strapped team [see separate story - click here]. The Irishman led his nation to glory in the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport in 2008/09.

However, despite speculation that the 27-year-old is due to sign an agreement imminently to link up with Bruno Senna - with The Belfast Telegraph reporting that Carroll is all set to fly to Spain to conclude a deal - Neil Lynas, his manager, has dismissed any such talk.

"I'm shocked and surprised by this," he told www.thesportreview.com. "It's news to us. We've had no direct contact with the team."

More to follow as and when it develops...
