Mark Webber is confident the Red Bull RB8 will go well in Canada, a grand prix he regards as one of the top-five of the season.

Webber heads to Montreal off the back of a brilliant win in Monaco, a result that has propelled him right into the thick of the F1 2012 World Championship fight. Indeed he has now notched up the same amount of points as his team-mate, Sebastian Vettel, both on 73, and just 3 behind current leader, Ferrari number one driver, Fernando Alonso.

"I would say Montreal is one of the top five grand's prix of the year because it's a sensational atmosphere. It's a really, really good venue and always provides an interesting grand prix there for whatever reason, and last year was no exception," said the Aussie in the countdown to the seventh round in the championship.

"It's a low downforce track with long straights and high top speed, which is a different challenge.

"We'll see how that unfolds, but we're very confident the car should work well round there. I love driving the circuit.

"It's a good one to get our teeth into, a little bit like a street circuit, so I'm looking forward to getting out there."

Vettel meanwhile is also a fan of the event and is similarly looking forward to going racing at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve: "Montreal is a great city, everyone loves to go there - the atmosphere is always great," he added. "The track is on an island in the St. Lawrence river, and is a great challenge for the drivers.

"Like the track in Albert Park in Australia, the roads are public, so tyre wear can be high. There's also a lot of wear on brakes, which can cause us a headache.

"Last year the race dragged on due to the heavy rain - but it's a very good place to go racing."
